In creating hope for the communities of the Eastern Cape, the education MEC Mandla Makupula will today, 7 June 2012 visit the Port Elizabeth and Uitenhage education districts as part of interacting with the departmental stakeholders.

The visit is primarily aimed at facilitating unity while also bringing clarity to these stakeholders about the vision adopted by the department. Since department is currently aligning its service delivery model to the resources available for effective utilisation, it wants to also create common standards of performance amongst districts and schools.

As part of the participative democracy, the department will hold public hearings at the Uitenhage education district on Thursday, 7 June at 10h00.
