The Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature is hosting a two-day Media Indaba aimed to encourage constructive debates and exchange of ideas among relevant media experts, the Legislature and provincial government spokerpersons. The Indaba is also hosted to foster relations with the media towards a conducive media environment.
Key Speakers from respective media institutions presented on topical issues affecting all in the media industry. A rich line up of presenters unpacked the theme of the Indaba and sparked more debate reflecting on issues of concern. Speakers include University of South Africa (UNISA): Dr Somadoda Fikeni, RHODES: School of Journalism and Media Studies academic Professor Herman Wasserman, Media Monitoring and Development Agency Chief Executive: Lumko Mtimde, Press Ombusdman: Joe Thloloe, and Mathatha Tsedu from Media24 Journalism Academy, the Daily Dispatch and the SABC News Editor Deidri Uren.
