Eastern Cape Provincial Government is bettering the lives of the Waterford farm community near Jansenville

The Provincial Government will hand over school uniforms, water tanks, blankets and other essentials to better the lives of Toekomst Primary School learners and community of Waterford next week. This follows the Public Service Week that was held in the area in June 2011 during which the Premier Ms Noxolo Kiviet called on provincial departments to work together to ease the plight of this poor community.

The Office of the Premier, the Department of Social Development and Special Programmes, and Ikhwezi Local Municipality will hand over the deliverables. This is but a first step of a long-term process to better the lives of this community. 

The media is invited to the event to get an opportunity to interview, amongst others, the Premier, Ikwezi Mayor Sizwe Mngwevu, and beneficiaries, and to capture pictures that will tell million words:

About 26 kms before you reach Jansenville, you turn right into R400. You drive about 15 to 18 kms on that gravel road and you will reach Waterford.
