The Eastern Cape Department of Education will tomorrow (Friday, 30 September 2011) officially open a R63 million worth Byletts Combined School near Mooiplaas outside East London at 11h00.
Byletts boasts 630 learners from grade eight to 12 and 504 of them are housed by the school in its school hostels while 126 of them benefit from the scholar transport.
Despite the fact that the school is situated in a farm, thus far it has had a commendable matric results from its inception in 1996 and in years its matric results have ranged between 80 to 100%. The 18 months project was made successful through the donation of a 10 hectare of land by the Khamanga Bay.
Members of the media fraternity and communities in and around East London are cordially invited to witness the strides made by the department and its stakeholders to ensure that teaching and learning conditions provincially are improved.
