Durban to honour new AU Commission Chairperson Minister Dlamini Zuma, 13 Aug

Its all systems go as the people of Durban prepare to lay a red carpet for one of the province of KwaZulu-Natal's best daughters, Minister Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma during two ceremonies planned for Monday, 13 August 2012.

The ceremonies organised by the eThekwini Metropoplitan Council, is meant to give the people of KwaZulu-Natal in general and Durban and surrounding areas in particular an opportunity to salute and to honour Minister Dlamini Zuma for her recent election as the new Chairperson of the African Union Commission.

The two ceremonies include a parade through the streets of Durban from King Zulu statue to the Town Hall from 11h00, while the second function will witness the Mayor of Ethekwini honouring the new AU Commission Chairperson at a dinner organised for the City Hall in the evening.

Meanwhile, Minister Dlamini Zuma has extended an apology for not honouring an invitation to the eThekwni Community Church led by Pastor Dube scheduled for later today, Sunday 12 August. While Minister Dlamini Zuma expresses her appreciation for the support demonstrated by the church, she is unfortunately not able to attend the church service due to prior commitment.
