Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe will on Friday, 18 March 2011, launch the most ambitious energy efficiency campaign that seeks to appeal to all South Africans to conserve electricity.
Key roleplayers in this Eskom-led campaign are the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACCI), the National Economic Development and Labour Council (Nedlac), the Technology Association of South Africa, government, big business and organised labour.
As we approach the high-demand period (winter), South Africans are reminded to use electricity sparingly without necessary undermining their lives and economic activity.
The call to action is for every South Africans to lift a finger, as this is all it takes to switch off a plug. It calls on media partners to engage with the energy efficiency movement, under the slogan, "Remember Your Power”.
