Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe and other members of the 2010 Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) invite journalists sport reporters in particular to a media activation of the “Football Friday” fly the flag for South Africa campaign at the Union Buildings.

The Football Friday initiative forms part of the broader domestic mobilisation campaign in preparation for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. It also aims to build awareness celebration of national symbols by all South Africans.
On the day of the event, the Deputy President, Ministers serving on the 2010 IMC, the International Marketing Council, Members of Communications Partnership, Local Organising Committees leadership, 2010 ambassadors as well as all Presidency staff attend wearing Bafana Bafana jerseys carrying the South African flag. These are main symbols of the Football Friday campaign. Zakumi diski dancers are expected to provide entertainment.
