Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe will on 24 to 25 June 2011 respectively, visit Emthanjeni and Renosterberg Municipalities in the Pixley Ka Seme District in the Northern Cape province, to assess the implementation of the government’s War on Poverty programme.
The War On Poverty Campaign, lead by the Deputy President, forms part of government efforts to fast-track the delivery of government services to improve the lives of the people especially in those areas trapped in poverty.
Deputy President Motlanthe will also interact with members of the communities at a community meeting. Various mobile services will be offered to members of the communities by departments such as the Department of Home Affairs, Human Settlements, Social Development, Health, Agriculture, Education and the National Development Agency amongst others.
The Deputy President, will be supported by Northern Cape Premier, Hazel Jenkins and other senior government officials.
