Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe will on Saturday, 12 December 2009 attend the launch of the Meadowlands Development Project, to take place in Soweto.
The Meadowlands Development Project will be launched by the Meadowlands Development Foundation (MDF) which was established by residents of Meadowlands Township.
The Foundation aims at encouraging residents of Meadowlands to get involved in community upliftment initiatives, which are in line with government’s key priority areas, such as education, health, fighting crime, skills development and local economic development.
Deputy President Motlanthe will be accompanied by the Premier of Gauteng Ms Nomvula Mokonyane, the Mayor of Johannesburg, Councillor Amos Masondo and other senior government officials.
