Media are invited to a briefing by the Deputy President of the Republic of South Africa, Mr Kgalema Motlanthe. The Deputy President will prior to the briefing convene a 2010 Inter-Ministerial Committee where he will receive reports from concerned departments on the country’s state of readiness for the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup. The tournament starts on Sunday 14 June 2009.
