Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe will on Tuesday, 9 March 2010 attend the installation ceremony as the new Chancellor of the University of Venda (Univen), Thohoyandou, at the University of Venda’s auditorium.
Deputy President succeeds the former Chancellor, Mr Cyril Ramaphosa whose term expired in 2009. The Presidency is jubilant and greatly honoured by the University of Venda’s Council decision to appoint the deputy president as the new chancellor.
The university has invited all its stakeholders, those are: members of the University Council, Senate, students and student representative council, government, labour and business, and diverse local and international partners to be present at this august event.
Deputy President will be accompanied by Minister of Higher Education Blade Nzimande and other senior government officials.
