Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe will on Friday, 11 September 2009, deliver a keynote address at the South African National Aids Council’s (SANAC) Sport and Entertainment Sector Summit to chart the way forward in a quest to fight the HIV and AIDS pandemic.

The inaugural summit will entail all the stakeholders taking stock of HIV and AIDS programmes or initiatives within the sport and entertainment sector.
The summit would culminate in the stakeholders devising a plan of action to coordinate the contribution of the sports and entertainment sector towards the attainment of the goals of the national strategic plan on HIV and AIDS and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) 2007 to 2011 (commonly referred to as NSP 2007 to 2011).
