Deputy Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs to launch the

Rejoice Mabudafhasi, the Deputy Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs will launch the "All Hands on Waste" project as well as the "Go Green Bus" mobile exhibition unit at Nelson Mandela Bay municipality, Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape on Wednesday, 28 April 2010.

Nelson Mandela Bay municipality was declared overall winners of the 2009 Greenest Municipality competition under the metropolitan category in the annual competition organized by the Department of Environmental Affairs.

The total prize money of R1.5 million won in two consecutive Greenest Municipality competition is released to the winners on condition that it is invested into waste management initiatives involving communities and other stakeholders to ensure sustained cleanliness.

Nelson Mandela Bay municipality waste initiative is the launch of the All Hands on Waste and the Go Green Bus (Mobile Exhibition unit) projects aimed at educating the local community on effective waste management principles.
