Deputy Minister of Tourism Tokozile Xasa will address Umgubho wesizwe saMahlubi and the commemoration of King Langalibalele I

The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ms Tokozile Xasa will on Saturday, 8 October 2011, address the UMgubho wesizwe sa MaHlubi which also marks the commemoration of the King Langalibalele I at the Kwavik’induku Royal Residence, near Giants Castle in Estcourt KwaZulu-Natal.

The AmaHlubi community is presently engaged in projects that are meant to bolster tourism growth seeing that they are situated near one of the world’s heritage sites, the Drakensburg Mountain. The commemoration will be used as a platform to showcase the rich heritage of the AmaHlubi and showcase some of the tourism attractions in and around the UKhahlamba area.

The Deputy Minister will among other things engage with the community and discuss about the initiatives taken by government to promote Cultural and Heritage Tourism. These are as some of the niche markets identified to support growth and development of tourism in the country as well as assist with the creation of jobs within the tourism sector.

During Tourism Month which had a theme Tourism Linking Cultures”, South Africans were encouraged to travel their own country and learn more about the different Cultures and the rich Heritage of the Mzansi nation.
