The Deputy Minister of Tourism Tokozile Xasa will host a Constituency Information Day for the community of Berlin in the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality this Friday, 2 December starting at 11h00. This initiative is aimed at sharing government and related information with the community of Berlin. Berlin is a parliamentary constituency assigned to Deputy Minister Xasa.
Government departments in the province and nationally have been invited to come and share information on their programmes, bursaries, internships and also answer questions that the community members may have regarding the respective department’s activities including where and how the community can access government services.
This day is in response to numerous and consistent requests for information from the members of the community, most of which was directed at the Constituency Office. It was then decided by the Management Committee of the Constituency Office that it will be best to bring together different entities of government for them to come and share information that is sought by the community.
The intended outcome of the event is to empower the community with knowledge that will assist them to improve their lives. It is a well-known fact that “Knowledge is power”. Deputy Minister Xasa is positive that the people of Berlin will know where to go for what and how to access government services will be given an opportunity to interact with the departmental officials and to voice out issues around development and challenges they face in the area.
