The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ms Tokozile Xasa will on Friday, 25 March 2011 address the Young Women in Dialogue in conjunction with the Eastern Cape Department of Social Development Special Programmes Unit. The event is taking place in Berlin, in the Buffalo City Municipality. Berlin is a constituency that has been assigned to Deputy Minister Xasa by parliament. The theme of the event is “Focus to Young Women on access to Education”.
The intended outcome of the event is to come up with proposals on the support initiatives or intervention strategies that can be implemented in order to help uplift the socio-economic conditions of young women in Berlin. Young women will be given an opportunity to voice out issues around women development and challenges they face as the area is characterised by high rate of crime, teenage pregnancy, substance abuse, unemployment and HIV & AIDS.
