The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ms Tokozile Xasa will on Wednesday, 29 June 2011 address the launch of a Federated Hospitality Association of Southern Africa (FEDHASA) "Tourism Youth Chapter". This is a culmination of various studies that have been conducted with a view to enhancing the tourism industry's growth potential and the sought after status as an 'Employer of Choice', as well as responding to a number of challenges presented in the recently launched National Tourism Sector Strategy (NTSS) and the National Skills Development Strategy 3 (NSDS3).
The "Tourism Youth Chapter" will be the premier and most progressive professional youth formation, particularly in the tourism industry. Tourism is one of the fastest growing economic sectors of our economy and already punted as one of the key industries for Government Job Creation drive. The industry is expected to create 225 000 job opportunities by 2020 as well contribute to the government’s objective of growing the economy.
