Deputy Minister Tobias-Pokolo to launch the Industrial Efficiency Energy project

Members of the media are invited to attend the launch of the Industrial Energy Efficiency Improvement Project by the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Ms Thandi Tobias-Pokolo as follows:

The Industrial Energy Efficiency (IEE) Improvement Project is a collaborative initiative between the South African government through the Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) and the Department of Energy (DoE), the Swiss Secretariat for Economic Affairs and the United Kingdom’s Department for International Development (UNIDO).

The Project is implemented by UNIDO through the National Cleaner Production Centre of South Africa (NCPC-SA) at the Council Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). 

The IEE launch will be part of the Africa Industrialisation Day celebrations, and will also kick-start the dti’s programme of activities for the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) taking place in Durban from 28 November to 9 December 2011.
