The Deputy Minister of Social Development, Ms Maria Ntuli, will meet and interact with North West NPO sector through dialogues. Lack of funding and communication were previously highlighted as some of the challenges that affect the relationship between the NPO sector and the department. Funding crisis has left many organisations collapsing while others are on the brink of collapse.
Since the NPO sector is in a good position to assist the Department of Social Development with delivery of quality services, the department realised that there is a need for dialogues with the aim of strengthening working relations. To date, the department hosted three provincial dialogues in Limpopo, Free State and Western Cape respectively.
Deputy Minister will interact with members of the NPO sector in the form of dialogues which will culminate into an all-inclusive national consultative summit. The summit will also be attended by other relevant stakeholders as well as critical role players later this year.
The Deputy Minister will be accompanied by MEC for Social Development, Women, Children and People with Disabilities, Mme Mosetsanagape Mokomele Mothibi.
