Deputy Minister Ntuli to educate older persons about their constitutional rights

The Deputy Minister of Social Development Mrs Maria Ntuli will be hosting an educational awareness campaign to highlight the challenges facing older persons.

This campaign will serve as a platform to highlight the plight of older persons and educate them about their rights as enshrined in the Constitution of South Africa. With a variety of roles to play in the households, this campaign will educate older persons about their rights thus ensuring a dignified treatment by members of society.

In addition to these roles, older persons also have a responsibility of raising and nurturing their grandchildren including those who are orphaned as a result of social ills such as HIV and AIDS.
