Botshabelo Industrial Park will come under spotlight when Deputy Minister Gina visits to track revitalisation progress

The Botshabelo Industrial park will come under spotlight when the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Ms Nomalungelo Gina pays a visit to track the industrial park revitalisation programme progress and impact. Gina will be joined by the Member of the Executive Council for Economic, Small Business Development, Tourism and Environmental Affair, Mr Makalo Mohale and the Chief Executive Officer of the Free State Development Corporation, Mr Ikhraam Osman.

According to Gina, it is critical to monitor and evaluate the progress and impact of the programmes that government is implementing and make sure assistance is given where needed to ensure maximum impact. The upgrade of industrial parks will contribute immensely towards the revitalisation of township and rural economy and provides the necessary support towards government black industrialist programme. The Botshabelo industrial Park’s visit will ensure challenges are identified and addressed by relevant stakeholders for the benefit of the communities surrounding the park.

“The revitalisation programme seeks to accelerate economic development in the lagging regions by attracting business to locate in these areas. It is also aimed at supporting job creation in manufacturing and related sectors. The Botshabelo Industrial Park was approved for R 24 462 780 funding and was the first Industrial Park to reach completion. The second phase has been approved for R40 486 534,” says Gina.

Gina says the revitalisation programme is vital as it is aimed at providing industrialists with favourable environment to contribute towards inclusive growth and decent employment creation by increasing the security and attractiveness of the industrial parks.
