The Deputy Minister for Higher Education and Training, Professor Hlengiwe Mkhize, will present the department’s Budget Vote Speech for the 2011/12 financial year to the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) on Tuesday, 21 June 2011.
Deputy Minister Mkhize, accompanied by the nine provincial Members of Executive Council (MECs) for Education, will address a pre-budget media briefing to explain the key outcomes and highlights of the speech.
Principally, in her Budget Speech the Deputy Minister will outline the terrain in which the Department of Higher Education and Training works, as covered in the Budget Vote to the National Assembly in May this year, and will also deal in detail with the linkages between the department, the provincial departments for education and the Further, Education and Training (FET) Colleges sector.
