The Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training, Professor Hlengiwe Mkhize will on Friday, 3 December 2010 deliver a key note address at the Training in Certificate Programme in Management Development for Municipal Finance (CPMD) MF graduation ceremony in Johannesburg.
The (CPMD) MF is an outcomes-based certificate programme offered by the Wits Business School, which was developed by National Treasury, with the collaboration of various stakeholders and role-players in the government sphere (LGSETA, SALGA).
The course commenced in 2006 and has been rolled out in all nine provinces with over 2000 municipal employees partaking in the programme since inception.
The importance of this course stretches beyond the boundaries of municipal development, and into the terrain of enhancing South Africa as a whole.

The Linder Auditorium is situated on the Wits Education Campus at 27 St Andrew’s Rd Parktown Johannesburg.
1. From Pretoria / JHB Northern suburbs.
Take the M1 South.
Come off at the St. Andrew’s Road turnoff. This is the one after Joe Slovo(formerly Harrow) Rd turnoff.
Turn left into St. Andrew’s Road.
Approximately 1 km along, at the third set of traffic lights turn left into the gates of the University of the Witwatersrand – Education Campus (formerly JCE)
Travel inside the campus until you reach a traffic circle.
The parking for the Linder is on the other side of the traffic circle.
2. From OR Tambo International Airport
Take the JHB road.
At the Gillooly’s interchange veer left onto the N2, N12 Johannesburg (M2) split.
At the Geldenhuys interchange take the M2 to Johannesburg.
Once you are in the city, take the M1 Pretoria/ Sandton split.
3.5 Km later take the Jan Smuts off ramp.
Proceed as for “from JHB”
3. From JHB.
Take the M1 North from the city.
Come off at the Jan Smuts Ave turnoff. This is the turnoff after Empire Road.
Continue straight- do not turn into Jan Smuts Ave. You will be in St. Andrew’s Road.
Approximately 1 km along, at the fourth set of traffic lights turn left into the gates of the University of the Witwatersrand – Education Campus (formerly JCE)
Travel inside the campus until you reach a traffic circle.
The parking for the Linder is on the other side of the traffic circle.
