Deputy Minister Mabudafhasi embarks on the Wilge river clean-up

As part of the River Health Programme, the Deputy Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs, Mme Rejoice Mabudafhasi in conjunction with Mafube Local Municipality, Let the river flow project and the South African Breweries (Ltd) will, on Friday, 11 March 2011, embark on the Wilge River clean up, in Frankfort, Free State.

Let the river flow project – funded by the South African Breweries (SAB) has since partnered with the Department of Water Affairs’ Adopt-a-river initiative. These partnership aims to ensure that the Wilge River is cleared of the debris of dead or dying trees. A total of 22 jobs were created through this Public Private Partnership.

The Mayor of Mafube Municipality, Mr Madala Ntombela will join the Deputy Minister during the clean up.
