Water and Environmental Affairs Deputy Minister, Ms Rejoice Mabudafhasi, today departs for Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, where she will attend the Vietnam Water Industry Conference representing South Africa from 10 to 12 November 2010. The Deputy Minister will also be leading a South African water industry business delegation.
The Vietnam Water Industry Conference 2010 under the theme “Green technologies and solutions for a sustainable water industry” is an international meeting of the water and wastewater industry professionals within Vietnam and the region to examine new technology, solutions and management practices as a way forward to sustainability in water supply and wastewater management leveraging on green technology and solutions.
The conference is expected to cover amongst others the following topics:
- Water supply and resource management
- Monitoring and control
- Non revenue water and water loss prevention
- Water quality and safety
- Investments and Partnership opportunities
- New Technological advances.
The governments of South Africa and Vietnam recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding on water cooperation.
Deputy Minister Mabudafhasi is expected to be back in South Africa on 14 November 2010.
