Deputy Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs, Vho-Rejoice Mabudafhasi, will be visiting Qedisimo Sendlala Project in Nkandla to report back on the progress of the implementation plan to alleviate the water scarcity problem in the area. The visit is scheduled for Tuesday, 24 May 2011.
Mabudafhasi was informed of the water challenges which affected the progress of priority projects and communities' access to water.

The other objective of the visit for Ms Mabudafhasi will be to join the local women when they cultivate their vegetable garden.
Senior government officials expected to accompany the Deputy Minister are the MEC for Agriculture, Environment and Rural Development, Mrs Johnson, Mayor of Nkandla Cllr Zulu and officials from the Department of Water Affairs.
Nkandla is a poverty stricken township in the Zululand area of KwaZulu-Natal with a population of approximately 160,000.
