In line with the Department mandate to take justice services to the people of South Africa and promote access to justice, the Deputy Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Mr Andries C Nel MP, will officially launch a Small Claims Court in Botshabelo, Free State.
The launch is another step by the department to ensure that there is an established and functional small claims court in each of the 384 magisterial districts in South Africa.
This commitment to have functional Small Claims Courts all over the country has been enhanced by last year’s renewal of a partnership between the Department and the Swiss government worth R10 million over a four year period.
Small claims Courts arepowerful mechanism, which provide access to justice, especially to the poor based on speed, simplicity and cost effectiveness.
