The Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training Professor Hlengiwe Mkhize, will on Sunday, 30 January 2011, deliver a keynote address at the achievers awards at Grace Bible Church in Soweto.
The aim of the awards is to recognise learners with outstanding matric results and from previously disadvantaged areas. This will be the ninth year that the church and its community have hosted the ceremony to honor the learners’ hard work.
The awards are categorised as follows:
- The best learner with outstanding matric results in previously disadvantaged areas in Gauteng public schools
- The best school with outstanding matric results in previously disadvantaged areas in Gauteng public schools
- The best girl learner with outstanding matric results in previously disadvantaged areas in Gauteng public school
- The best learner with outstanding matric results in previously disadvantaged areas in Soweto public schools
- The best school with outstanding matric results in previously disadvantaged areas in Soweto public schools
- The best learner with outstanding matric results in Grace Bible Church.
