The Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training, Professor Hlengiwe Mkhize, will on Friday, 28 January 2011, give a keynote address at the launch of the Arup Education Trust in Melrose Arch at 09h00.
The trust was formed in April 2010 and was established as a means to further the education of historically disadvantaged individuals. Its vision is to enhance the quality of life through education, and to provide an enabling environment for the country’s youth to realise their full potential.
To support students to succeed, 12 beneficiaries will collectively be awarded R1 million from the trust’s annual sponsorship.
