Deputy Minister Ebrahim to visit the Arab Republic of Egypt

The Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Mr Ebrahim Ebrahim, will undertake a working visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt on Sunday, 26 February 2012.

South Africa views Egypt as a strategic partner on the African continent at both bilateral and multilateral levels.

South Africa and Egypt have entered into more than 25 bilateral agreements, amongst which is the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Economic Cooperation signed in August 2009.

The signing of the MoU on Economic Co-operation has led to the creation of investment opportunities for South African businesses in Egypt.

During the visit, Deputy Minister Ebrahim is expected to meet with representatives of the Egyptian government and political parties.
