The Military Skills Development System (MSDS) in the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) affords young South Africans the opportunity to join and serve the military voluntarily and or leave the SANDF upon completion of their service to contribute towards the economy and society by means of utilising their newly skills acquired through the MSDS programme.
The South African Air Force (SAAF) gymnasium has over the years established itself as a centre of “Training Excellence” for all Air Force members ensuring that the Air Force is combat ready. A passing out parade to welcome the new airmen and women into the Air Force will be held at Air Force Hoedspruit on 2 June 2011.
During this parade, recruits will demonstrate unique abilities that they have acquired throughout their six months of intensive training.
The parade will be graced by the presence of the Deputy Minister of Defence and Military Veterans, Mr Thabang Makwetla. The Deputy Minister will hand out certificates to deserving and outstanding achievers during the course.
Members who are assigned to cover the event are requested to report at Air Force Base Waterkloof at 13h00 for departure to Hoedspruit. The parade will commence at 17h00.
