The Deputy Minister of Communications, Mr Obed Bapela will be addressing the participants at the 2011 Pietermaritzburg information and communication technology (ICT) fair.
Mr Obed Bapela will be giving a keynote address on 28 May 2011, touching on issues of the establishment of ICT information centres, provision of internet connectivity, ICT skills development, provincial computer refurbishment hub, digital literacy camp, ICT4Girls Clubs; email address for all; ICT clubs4schools; graduate re-skilling project.
The fair will be attended by the captains of the industry to address and work in collaboration with the Further Education and Training (FET) colleges, ICT universities etc. The department supports all these initiatives, by harnessing ICT for socio-economic development as its mandate and objective.
