Department of Trade and Industry takes the youth economic empowerment campaign to Lephalale in Limpopo

The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti), led by Deputy Minister Thandi Tobias-Pokolo together with Lephalale Local Municipality and the Waterberg District Municipality will host an outreach campaign at Ga-Seleka Community Hall in Lephalale, on Monday, 23 July 2012 from 10h00. Members of the media are invited to attend.

The purpose of the campaign is to create awareness about the dti’s products and services, as well as small business support services offered by its agencies.

The campaign, which is targeting businesses and entrepreneurs in and around Lephalale, seeks to strengthen government’s commitment to empowering rural and peri-urban communities to accelerate job creation and sustainable economic development in the country.

Entrepreneurs attending the event will be advised on how to start, grow and sustain their businesses during interactive information-sharing session hosted by the dti agencies and strategic partners at their exhibition stands.

The agencies and divisions that will form part of the dti delegation will include the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC), the South African Micro-Finance Apex Fund (Samaf), Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA), the South African Women Entrepreneurs’ Network (SAWEN), The Enterprise Organisation (TEO), Trade and Investment South Africa (TISA), The Consumer and Corporate Regulation Division (CCRD) and the Cooperatives Development Unit.
