The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) in partnership with Wits University to host economic policy dialogue

The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) in partnership with Wits University, Corporate Strategy and Industrial Development (CSID) division, invite academics, members of civil society, economists, the media, policy analysts and other interested public members to its inaugural Economic Policy Dialogue.

The panel consists of renowned international speakers, including: Professor Gabriel Palma, Senior Lecturer at Cambridge University; Mr Goolam Ballim, Chief Economist & Global Head of Research for Standard Bank Group, and Mr Lionel October, Director-General of the dti.

Topic for discussion: Impact of the Euro zone economic crisis and possible effects on South Africa.

During this dialogue, the dti will articulate Government’s position and approaches to assist South African industries during this challenging period.
