Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) partners with Contralesa to empower rural communities

Members of the media are invited to attend an empowerment and enterprise development workshop which will be hosted by the Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) and the Congress of Traditional Leaders of South Africa (Contralesa) to empower rural communities:

The workshop is part of the rollout of the dti's activities to the rural and peri-urban communities. The event is a result of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) signed in Pretoria in November last year. the dti and Contralesa agreed to form a partnership and work together in taking the dti to the rural people to inform them about the department’s products and services, and to assist them to establish and grow business enterprises as part of the rural economic development programme.

Director of Commercial Law and Policy atthe dti, Mr Simphiwe Ncwane, and officials from Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) and National Credit Regulator (NCR) will address the gathering.
