Department spreads HIV and AIDS awareness and prevention campaign

Tomorrow, the Gauteng Department of Health and Social Development will be educating and providing HIV and AIDS counselling and testing at the Football for Hope festival in Alexandra, Johannesburg.

The Football for Hope festival is an official event of the 2010 FIFA World Cup which aims to raise HIV and AIDS awareness through celebrity soccer games and a series of events that demonstrate the South African football players' commitment to the fight against HIV and AIDS.

At the event, the department will provide information on healthy living, educate the public about preventative measures as well as services available for those infected and affected. There will also be an opportunity for HIV counselling and testing.
