Department of Science and Technology (DST) receives donation towards the 6th World Science Centre World Congress

The media is invited to a photo opportunity when the Systems Applications Products Africa hands over a R725 000 cheque towards the hosting of the 6th Science Centre World Congress that is taking place in Cape Town from 4 to 8 September.

The Department of Science and Technology (DST) Director-General Phil Mjwara will receive the cheque from the SAP Managing Director in South Africa, Mr Pfungwa Serima.

The Science Centre World Congress is held every three years in a different continent, bringing together science centre leaders from all over the world to a meeting to discuss the important role that science centres can play in increasing public engagement in science and technology worldwide.

Supported by the DST, the event is hosted by the Cape Town Science Centre, the Southern African Association of Science and Technology Centres (SAASTEC), and the North Africa and Middle East Science Centre’s Network
