The Department of Rural Development and Agrarian Reform cordially invites members of the media to a unique team building workshop between the OR Tambo Farmers Association members and the departmental officials, including Senior Management.
This pioneering workshop aims at ensuring sound relations between departmental officials and farmers and the attendance of Senior Management who will be making presentations about the department’s programmes shows the department’s commitment in ensuring people understand how to access government programmes.
The workshop will present the farmers s well as journalists an opportunity to know more about the department, with presentations that will cover issues of land reform, skills development, development finance institutions like Uvimba Bank (how the funds can be accessed), support to farmers, setting up of agricultural commodity groups, rural development through agriculture and how to access our services.
After this groundbreaking workshop, the department hopes to have an understanding farming community that will be able to work towards the goal of developing rural areas and revamping agricultural activities together with the government.
The department is committed in ensuring that people in the rural areas understands how it works and what criteria to follow in order to be served by its committed officials hence members of the media are invited to the event to ensure maximum dissemination of the information and understanding.
Members of the media would be afforded an opportunity to mingle with the Senior Management of the department, in order to get the insight on how the department envisages the development of rural areas.
