Department remembers HIV and AIDS victims

Gauteng MEC for Health and Social Development Ntombi Mekgwe will remember the lives of those who died from HIV and AIDS and to support people living with HIV and AIDS related illnesses at a candlelight memorial service in Vosloorus on Sunday.

The aim of this event is to create awareness around the need for care and support to AIDS patients and the affected families and to inform the community about prevention, treatment, care and support services available for people living with the disease.

The theme this year is Touching lives. The event will further look at ways to alleviate the stigma of HIV and AIDS and to work towards the pledge of a world without AIDS.
