The Department of Police, Roads and Transport in the Free State will host drugs and alcohol abuse awareness event on Thursday, 28 June 2012 in the Community hall at 10h00, Jacobsdal as part of youth month celebrations.
The aim of the event is to discourage abuse of alcohol and drugs among young people and to educate them on the negative impact of drugs and substance abuse to human beings. The event will also serve as a platform to raise awareness to local communities especially the youth of Letsemeng Local Municipality about ill effects of drugs and alcohol abuse.
MEC for Police, Roads and Transport Honourable Butana Komphela is among the dignitaries who are expected to grace the occasion. MEC Komphela would be accompanied by local Spiritual Leaders who will lead a prayer session during the event.
The Department of Police, Roads and Transport would like to invite Media to the event to contribute in the fight against drugs and substance abuse by informing general public about the ill effects of them on human beings.
