Department of Labour unveils revised code of good practice on HIV/Aids and the wold of work

The Department of Labour’s series of Employment Equity road shows on Revised Code of Good Practice on HIV/Aids and the World of Work take-off at the Southern Sun Hotel, Steve Biko Street (Former Beatrix) in Pretoria, Gauteng Province tomorrow, August 14 and Wednesday.

The road shows, to be conducted throughout the country’s major centres, come about as a result of the Department of Labour’s consultations with stakeholders that were done throughout the country in 2011.

The purpose of the Road-shows is to present the revised Code of Good practice on HIV/Aids and the world of work and to remind employers about this year’s Employment Equity reporting. Both manual and online reporting start on September 1, 2012. Manual reporting closes on October 1, 2012 whilst online reporting concludes on January 15, 2013.

This year’s road shows, with the theme ‘Bridging the equity gap’ are aimed at employers or heads of companies, assigned senior managers, consultative forum members, human resources practitioners, trade unions, employees, Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) rating agencies and community constituencies.

The other road show takes place in Johannesburg on August 15, at Cedar Park. All road shows are from 10h00 to 13h00.
