Labour Minister Mildred Nelisiwe Oliphant is to present her first Budget vote speech in the National Assembly on 24 May.
The Minister is expected to present highlights on the latest unemployment figures, increase in worker strikes and causes thereof.
Key among her topics will be progress made by her department in achieving its Strategic Objectives in the areas of labour law amendments which include Public employment services and Labour Relations Act - Unemployment Insurance and Compensation funds with the UIF having paid R4.1 billion in benefits and the Compensation Fund in excess of R606 million.
Further details will be presented at the Ministers budget vote on 24 May in Parliament
