Department invests in the development of sport through partnership

The Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation is happy to have partnered with the Dream-Fields project aimed at promoting sport development in the previously disadvantaged areas.

The financial support by the department is to see the project succeeding in developing sport especially in schools. 

The Dreamfield Project, founded by the sporting personality cum media presenter John Perlman has benefited over 1 300 teams so far since 2007.

The next Dream event is happening this weekend at Etwatwa where 8 under 12 soccer teams stand to benefit. This will be followed by another to be held in Eldorado Park the next weekend on 21 May.

After the events apparel will be handed over to winning teams and contained in the dream bags includes a full kit for 15 players, soccer boots, 3 balls, a coach’s shirt and more.

The all-day event is also used to launch the school-based leagues in the community.
