The Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF), in partnership with the North West province Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, invites members of the media to the 5th Biennial National LandCare Conference to be held at the Mmabatho Convention Centre in Mahikeng, North West.
The LandCare Conference is held every two years and the theme for this year is “LandCare: sustaining natural resource management 15 years and beyond for better livelihoods”. The purpose of the conference according to the LandCare ethos is to create awareness about the importance of land conservation through caring for the land.
The DAFF, through the Directorate Land Use and Soil Management, has hosted four Biennial National LandCare Conferences since its inception in 1997. The last conference was held in Limpopo province in 2009.
