Gauteng Department of Health and Social Development will tomorrow host TB and HIV seminar which aims to empower health workers and communities in the province about the framework for effectiveness TB control programme.
During the seminar, an update on the effectiveness of the two Gene-Xpert machines based at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic and Edenvale hospitals will also be shared.
The department will also acknowledge districts that have intensified efforts of improving TB management which include achieving a high cure rate, increasing awareness about the disease, educating people to complete treatment as well as educating communities on infection control.
