Health Minister Dr. Aaron Motsoaledi will today launch a new training programme for forensic chemistry analysts at the University of Pretoria. The programme is a joint partnership between the Department of Health and University of Pretoria.
To kick-off the programme, a total of 70 students are expected to undergo a seven-month intensive training after which they will be absorbed into the country's three (3) forensic laboratories in Pretoria, Johannesburg and Cape Town.
This programme forms part of the Minister's programme to deal with massive backlogs in the country's public forensic laboratories.
