In an effort to fight the challenge of unemployment in Gauteng, MEC for Economic Development, Nkosiphendule Kolisile will launch the Reashoma – Gauteng at Work jobs campaign.
The campaign is geared towards forging strategic partnerships with key stakeholders to work together to create a conducive environment for sustainable and inclusive economic growth in the province and finding solutions to address the unemployment challenge.
Although Gauteng contributes 34% to the Gross domestic product (GDP) of South Africa, the province has an unemployment rate of 25.4%.
The high unemployment rate spells the need to place the creation of decent work and the generation of inclusive economic growth at the centre of our efforts as a province.
The launch will be attended by a range of Gauteng based companies and small businesses operating in the manufacturing, mining, automobile, banking, telecommunications, tourism and many other sectors.
