The Minister of Defence and Military Veterans, Lindiwe Sisulu will deliver the keynote address to the delegates at the annual Department of Defence (DOD) Gender Conference on the morning of 27 August 2009. The DOD General Conference takes place from 26 to 28 August 2009 at the Wonderboom Military Base, Pretoria. The conference is hosted by the Chief Director Transformation Management, Major General Ntsiki Memela-Motumi.
The purpose of this conference is to assess progress achieved, and challenges experienced in the implementation of the DOD Gender Mainstreaming Strategy. The conference has adopted the theme "Inspired, and Empowered to advance Gender Equity in the DOD."
