The Department of Communications launches the first ever Information and Communications Technology (ICT) measurement tool, the e-Barometer

The Department of Communications will be launching the first ever South African e-Barometer report on 4 August 2011.

The department has embarked on a project that will assist the industry to measure the progress of South Africa’s uptake and usage of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) tools using an e-Barometer. This measuring tool will assist in analysing the country's e-readiness, primarily because government need to be informed of the impact of the ICT initiatives across multiple sectors within the country.

This report is geared towards facilitating an evidence based and scientific approach when planning and implementing projects of the department as contained in the Department of Communications’ Strategic Plan.
