The Department of Communications together with its partners - Media Development & Diversity Agency (MDDA), National Electronic Media Institute of South Africa (NEMISA) and Open Society Foundation of South Africa (OSF-SA) will be hosting the National Community Radio Governance Indaba on 20 – 26 September 2012.
The main objective of the Indaba is to capacitate community radio stations on governance matters. The National Community Radio Governance Indaba is to unfold as follows:
- Two day National Community Radio Conference, focusing on governance matters, on 20-21 September 2012
- Three day training on financial management, station management, and corporate governance on 22 -24 September 2012
- Two day session, on 25 – 26 Sept, aimed at reviving an effective sector coordinating body.
Each station was requested to nominate two delegates that only hold any of the following positions: Station Manager/ Programme Manager, and one board member to be trained and learn practical corporate governance systems development.
